Why this role

We're looking for a creative and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer, Backend to join our Distribution Team to help us build, innovate, and maintain our integrations with our distribution partners. In this role you will help plan and execute special projects while supporting ongoing cross-functional operations. Whether a bug fix or an awesome feature, you will own your work and deliver the most effective and scalable solutions. You will work closely with our Product Team and other cross-functional development teams to design and implement world class solutions.

The ideal candidate for this role is technically savvy, analytical, and process-oriented. You must anticipate and embrace the challenge of solving critical business problems in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for someone who is a self-starter, willing to perform a variety of responsibilities and experienced working with cross-functional teams. This role is a technical leader that drives operational excellence on the team, enables teammates, and enhances the team holistically. What you'll do



  • Build and maintain our APIs and integrations with upstream and downstream consumers in mind
  • Collaborate with and across agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in backend development tools and technologies
  • Lead ecosystem-level design reviews, perform architecture reviews, and write technical documentation in collaboration with peers
  • Drive improvements to system reliability, observability, monitoring, and testability
  • Work directly with an Engineering Manager and Product Manager(s) to clearly understand the problem being solved
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from internal operations teams as well as external integration partners
  • Effectively debug high complexity multi-system problems and come up with good-better-best solutions
  • Execute on engineering and release priorities successfully through strong leadership and communication
  • Drive code reviews and collaborate with other team members on coding standards and best practices, third-party integrations, and other backend development processes
  • Guide and mentor less experienced developers on best practices and operational excellence


What makes you a great fit



  • 6+years of backend development experience in frameworks like Nodejs, and integrations with 3rd Party tools, APIs, and other services
  • Experience with designing and documenting architecture decisions
  • Experience with Golang and Kubernetes preferred
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambdas, Eventbridge, DynamoDB
  • Experience with IaC e.g. Terraform and have collaborated with DevOps to maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals and committed to mentoring less experienced engineers
  • Excellent giver and receiver of constructive code review feedback
  • Experience with Agile development process
  • You have a knack for finding solutions to problems - and using a full arsenal of debugging tools
  • You have built your own custom tools to help you automate tasks
  • Experience with Git version control and repository management in Gitlab


Location

Evolve has a flexible working environment so teammates can work remotely anywhere in the state of Colorado, in our beautiful downtown Denver office, remotely or a hybrid of both! As we grow, we are working towards opening remote opportunities across the entire U.S. We currently are able to hire across the U.S except in the following locations: District of Columbia, Hawaii, , and Pennsylvania.

Compensation

For this role our salary range is $120,000 to $185,000, depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.

Location

All Evolve team members must live in one of our approved locations by their first day. We can hire from anywhere in the U.S. except D.C. and Hawaii. Some positions may also have restrictions based on compensation in the following states: California, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Washington. If you live in Colorado, you can work remotely anywhere in the state, at our downtown Denver office, or a hybrid of both!
