TRA Maintenance Utility Mechanic - 3rd Shift Leprino Foods' history dates to over 65 years ago, when the Leprino family first started making small batches of mozzarella for local markets and eateries in Denver. We are seeking a Maintenance Utility Mechanic to help us continue our successful trend in the global cheese and nutrition markets through quality of product and food safety at our Tracy, California production facility. Hourly Rate Pay is $42.65 for this position. Description: Repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment such as freezers, electric motors, pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, PLC's, cooling towers, air and refrigeration compressors and motors, boilers, wastewater ponds and production machines and equipment. Also drives capability by working with Operators, and Technicians to enhance the overall skillsets of the Maintenance Department. Responsibilities include: 1) Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment including pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, blowers, boilers, cooling towers, condensers, Nh3 systems, compressed air system, waste-water ponds, HVAC systems. 2) Troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment including motors, electrical distribution center, motor control centers, variable speed drives, transformers, and all electrical controls. 3) Analyzing and solving electro/mechanical problems of processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment, and assisting manufacturing personnel on process related problems. 4) Performing established Preventative Maintenance and identifying new PM activities, as needed. 5) Working with Operations, and Technicians to enhance the overall skillsets of the Maintenance Department. 6) Participating in all LEAN and PSM teams as assigned. 7) Completing all APSM courses as required. 8) Participating in daily tie-outs as required. 9) Implementing continuous process improvement. 10) Understanding, following, and implementing all safety related standards and practices. Qualifications & Characteristics: 1) High School degree or general education degree (GED). 2) 2+ years of industrial refrigeration experience, preferably Nh3 in food industry. 3) Technical certification or degree preferred. 4) Working knowledge of A/B PLC's. 5) Mechanical apptitude. 6) Must have RETA certifications (CARO or CIRO) based on RETA's Industrial Refrigeration I, II, and IV as well as two basic electricity courses to be accepted into the Utilities program. 7) Successfully complete all 10 in-house refrigeration certification courses within 6 months. 8) Understanding of the dairy manufacturing process a plus. 9) Understanding CBN (Compelling Business Need) for Plant. Targeted Skill Areas: 1) Mechanical aptitude assessment score of 70% or greater is recommended. 2)Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. 3) Excellent troubleshooting experience including electrical, mechanical, pneumatics & PLC's. 4) Good organizational, cross-functional and interpersonal skills. 5) Must be able to effectively lead teams both directly and indirectly to accomplish business objectives. 6) Must role model professional leadership characteristics. 7) Good math and analytical skills. 8) Proficient computer skills including MS Office, Excel, Outlook, etc. 9) Must speak, read and write in English. 10) Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics. 11) Must provide own tools. 12) Demonstrated expertise in the CMMS environment. 13) Must be willing to work overtime, off-shift, weekends, holidays. 14) Perform any other function that may be required or assigned.
