Airgas Specialty Products, the leading North American supplier of ammonia for industrial applications, has a unique opportunity for a V.P. of Sales to join our team. He/she will design the growth strategy to take our business to the next level. This is your opportunity to truly have an impact on the business!

We are looking for someone who understands that high performing sales teams do not just happen. We are looking for a leader who understands the ability to sell value. The right candidate will understand the partnership between sales and operations. He/she must be confident helping to develop and communicate a sales strategy. He/she must also be able to quickly develop rapport and be someone who invests into properly training and coaching their sales team.

In terms of strategic aspects of this role, you will be responsible for:

- To develop the strategic plan to drive sales objectives for the next 3-5 years. This includes determining which markets to enter, opportunities to grow existing markets and determining how to identify and pursue strategic accounts.

- To craft compensation plans to motivate the team and drive the desired business results.

In terms of the core functions, you will also be responsible for:

- Directly manage three Regional Sales Managers, who in turn lead a team of approximately 15 Account Managers.

- Directly manage a VP of Strategic Accounts, Contract Manager, and an Inside Sales Coordinator.

- Champion of customer focus and drives initiatives that improve overall customer service.

- Oversee all sales related activities, including developing and monitoring progress against sales objectives.

- Achieve business sales objectives including product volume and gross margin targets.

- Lead pricing strategy and price management efforts to protect and grow margins in a volatile market environment.

- Leads implementation of standard supply contracts (where possible) and guidelines for negotiation process and acceptable commercial terms.

- Through your leadership, attain and develop new business through prospecting and targeting key partners.

- Provide direct support to manage and enhance relationships for all national accounts and national account prospects.

- Provides commentary on management reporting related to sales results and communicates with executive management as required.

- Reviews monthly performance and financial results of each territory and develops action plans as needed to improve.

- Directs and coordinates the annual sales plan by territory.

- Collaborates with other Airgas businesses on strategies to pursue or maintain shared customers including Strategic Accounts.

What we're looking for?

- Ten or more years B2B sales experience is required.

- Chemical/gases industry experience strongly preferred.

- Five or more years of progressive sales leadership experience in a B2B, multi-state environment is required.

- A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Business or related field from four-year college or university.

- Adequate technical capabilities to understand physical and chemical properties of the product and typical applications in industrial settings.

- The ability to quickly build trust and rapport with customers, leaders and associates at every level.

- Experience managing departments and cross-functional teams, including people development skills and leadership qualities.

Has demonstrated experience in crafting strategic plans to impact overall business.

- Strong organizational, presentation and communication skills are required.

- Demonstrated ability to be personable, professional, responsive, knowledgeable, credible, trusted and drive value to an organization.

- Must have solid computer skills, with experience in Google Workspace as a plus.

- Ability to travel overnight around 40% of the time.

- Must possess a valid drivers license.
