Reporting to the Technical Manager, the CI engineer will have an impact on plant performance, improving manufacturing and quality metrics. This position is also responsible to assist operations in day-to-day troubleshooting.

When your actions lead to success.
Align employees with objectives of implementation and improvement results. Direct and coordinate in-plant training for continuous improvement activities. Identify areas of improvement and provide solutions that meet business needs. Maximize product quality, yield, process utilization, uptime, and throughput. Reduce rework, cost of non-quality, cost of production, setup, and changeover and cycle time Work with Quality and Operations to implement preventative actions to eliminate non-conformances. Produce savings for the plant through improvement activities. Work with Management to set meaningful KPIs and track to measure performance, effectiveness of improvements and to identify where additional improvements are needed. Mine data to identify opportunities for improvements in efficiencies, quality and costs. Define, lead, and implement process improvement projects and Kaizen events with both management and hourly employees. Collaborate with other departments in order to implement procedures and improve performance through CI activities. Ability to understand and implement statistical control and lean six sigma methodologies. Ability to deliver detailed and quality results under constrained timelines. Assist with troubleshooting system / process / equipment issues to determine identify the root cause of out of control or breakdown situations and determine necessary remediation. Carryout failure analysis on non-conforming materials to determine disposition and identify the root cause and corrective actions required. Proactive communication and/or resolution of identified problems. Clearly defining program objectives and scope. Evaluate and prioritize potential improvements based on gains and required effort. Put in place strong control measures to ensure that improvements are sustained and measure through appropriate KPIs. Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing efficiency, quality, or waste issues. Develop corrective action plans and teach operators how to prevent recurring problems. When your expertise drives us.
A bachelor's degree in engineering or other related discipline with 5+ years of leading lean manufacturing activities. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Lean/Six Sigma certification is preferred. Knowledge of printing/extrusion/flexible packaging would be considered an asset. Working knowledge of TPM and demonstrated effective use of the DMAIC process in problem solving. Knowledge of LEAN methodologies. Possess a drive for Continuous Improvement, excellence and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees including Production. Requires work in the manufacturing facility. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Database & MS Project. High energy level, positive attitude able to work effectively with other departments. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently. Must be available after hours call-in and weekends.
