The Program in Geography at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) seeks to add to its pool of temporary instructors and/or assistant professors to teach in our undergraduate programs on a part-time basis for the Spring 2025 and also the 2025-2026 academic year. Term contracts only, positions contingent on funding. Appointments may include day classes, night classes, online classes and/or hybrid classes. Note: Being a member of the pool does not ensure a contract will be offered; course offerings, and therefore teaching appointments, vary with demand and available funding. Qualifications
Required qualifications for these positions include a minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited university in a relevant field at time of application; one year of relevant teaching experience at a college level (TA experience acceptable); ability to develop and deliver curriculum; demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings; evidence of outstanding oral and written communication skills. About the Department
The Program in Geography offers two majors: (1) Environment, Sustainability, and Geography with tracks in Environment and Sustainability, Urban and Regional Studies, and Geography, and (2) a major in Geographic Information Science. We also offer a graduate certificate in GIS. UMD Geography is located in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
