Sr Environmental Scientist

A Sr Environmental Scientist will evaluate and analyze policies and procedures in order to provide guidance on the program operations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Sr Environmental Scientist: 110K-125K

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Sr Environmental Scientist Responsibilities Include:



  • Provides specialized advisory and assistance support services to the Air Force including:

    • Environmental cleanup.
    • Property transfer.
    • Post-transfer management.
    • Contract surveillance.
    • Planning, programming, and budgeting (PPBE).
    • Environmental restoration liability reporting.
    • Data reporting and financial management.

  • Analyzes policy and guidance that influences the program.
  • Produces technical writing to support document development for property transfer activities.
  • Evaluates procedures and technologies including those required to address emerging contaminants, particularly per fluorinated compounds, in groundwater and surface water.
  • Conducts technical presentations to Air Force stakeholders in coordination with a variety of project stakeholders.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.



Sr Environmental Scientist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Experience with the Air Force environmental restoration program.
  • Knowledge of the Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and Installation Restoration Programs (IRP).
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP) and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Experience conducting effective technical presentations to client management and professional/tactful coordination with a variety of project stakeholders.
  • Experience interacting with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Experience working Green and Sustainable Remediation (GSR) Initiatives with United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) preferred.
  • Experience with assessing chemicals or materials as emerging issues/emerging contaminants preferred.
  • Good organizational skills and excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • U.S. Citizenship and DoD government security clearance NACI required

  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
