Position Summary: Potawatomi Defense Operations(a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualifiedHVAC Junior Technician who provides overall facilities HVAC support for complex facilities having office, laboratory, computer, warehouse, and other special purpose spaces; helping with preventive maintenance and general repairs on building operating systems (e.g., Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC); electrical; plumbing; other mechanical; and lighting). The position may also require general carpentry, repair of facility structures or other duties as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensure that all supply/return air vents are supplying the required air volume and kept free of dust/dirt
* Repair or replace valves, stems, disks, seals, packing, bonnets and gaskets
* Perform (predictive, preventive, proactive, and corrective) maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilating air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) equipment
* Operate, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and test the controls for complex electronic heating,
ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and electronic variable frequency drive (VFD)equipment
* Maintain and replace signal interface devices, various sensors and actuators that make up the auxiliary equipment associated with HVAC equipment including electronic thermostats, valve
and damper actuators, electro-pneumatic input/output devices, local interconnection wiring, air quality measurement sensors and humidity and temperatures transmitters
* Ensure systems are operating safely and conduct routine maintenance
* Repair or replacement of structural support systems
* Repair leaking, solders, welded joints, mechanical joints, and condenser tube roll joints
* Replacement of deteriorated, damaged, and leaky expansion joints
* Refrigerant control and maintain EPA air quality standards
* Leak detection
o Reclamation
o Control logs
Supervision This position works independently under general supervision of the On-Site Project Manager, On-Site Supervisor and Site Foreman. Candidate also receives non-supervisory guidance from the site designated Government Point of Contact (often the Facility Manager). Performance is evaluated in terms of effectiveness in completing assigned preventative maintenance and inspection services, successful completion of assigned work order projects, and ability to foster and maintain constructive and positive work relationships with all staff and management. Minimum Qualifications: * One (1) year of increasingly responsible HVAC maintenance experience Other Requirements: Shift Requirements: * Occasional swing or night shift work in order to accommodate occupants Physical Demands * Frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity, should have good hand-eye coordination and motion control in coordination with handling tools, equipment, and other related components. Work Environment * Most of the work is done indoors at the Western Regional Center located in Seattle, Washington.
