Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reporting tothe Assistant Dean and Director of Academic Resources and Services(ARS), the Coordinator, Academic Resources and Services will support the institution's goal of providing access and rendering accommodations to ensure that all aspects of campus life- learning, working, and living are accessible to all students.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Assists with exam proctoring, assisting with the student accommodation process, the delivery of disability support services, and providing supervision to student workers.
  • Responsible for communication, coordinating, administering, and collection of proctored exams and facilitating any testing related accommodations for ARS, including managing submissions, requests, and faculty inquiries and concerns.
  • Field, respond, and refer in-person, phone, and email inquiries for the Office of Academic Resources and Services from students, staff, faculty, parents, alumnae, outside vendors, members of the consortium, and Claremont community.
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise ARS student employees to support operations as needed.
  • Conduct general student meetings for the Office of Academic Resources and Services to address questions about services and establishing accommodations, the intake process, troubleshooting related to online accommodations profiles, modifying accommodations, and other student needs.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee logistics related to transportation/cart services for mobility accommodations.
  • Serve on the housing accommodation committee to review housing, dietary, and residential life accommodation requests. This includes communicating committee outcomes and coordinating logistical needs for accommodations with campus partners including the Office of Residential Life, Department of Facilities, Student Accounts, Registrar, and other campus partners.
  • Manage and coordinate logistical needs related to Emotional Support Animals and Service Dogs, including managing the roster and coordinating safety checks with community partners.
  • Organize and schedule cyclical memos and departmental emails that provide important community information regarding services and support from the Office of Academic Resources and Services.
  • Develop marketing material, including brochures, handouts, etc. for distribution and support office outreach events such as orientation, resource Fairs, tabling Events, preview Day, Fresh Check, and other events.
  • Support the review, upkeeping, and management process of ARS documents, forms, and websites to ensure clear policies and processes. Reviews are to be done annually to appropriately reflect services and procedures.
  • Provide accommodation verification letters and documentation for study abroad programs, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, and graduate school institutions.
  • Track and manage yearly data for ARS to support audits and collaborative work with various offices including the Office of Institutional Research, the Registrar's Office, and other campus partners.
  • Coordinate the logistics of reserving physical spaces and managing departmental needs to ensure success of ARS supported events and programs.
  • Attend and participate in all division staff meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge of the organization, policies and procedures working in a college/university setting or familiarity with academic accommodations is preferred.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a regular status, full-time, benefits-eligible, non-exempt position.

The regular hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours vary during midterms, finals, and commencement weeks to support departmental needs.

Hourly rate range: $22.00-$24.50. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Will supervise student employees.
