HVAC Engineering Manager Role Overview: Vaco is conducting a confidential search for a HVAC Engineering Manageron behalf of an innovative organization in the HVAC industry. This position focuses on managing a small team of engineers to develop and launch cutting-edge heat pump technologies. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. Location: Greater Atlanta, GA area, Southwest Atlanta Suburbs(2-3 days onsite, hybrid schedule) Compensation: Salary range: $116,000-$145,000 (flexible within reason) Bonus: Eligible for up to 10% annual incentive Relocation assistance: Required if not local, within a reasonable timeframe Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership: Directly manage a team of 3-5 engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and market introduction of advanced heat pump technologies for residential and commercial applications. Project Oversight: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all performance and regulatory standards. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with product management, operations, and sales teams to align engineering initiatives with business objectives. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all products comply with industry standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, and CSA, while maintaining a focus on quality and innovation. Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices to enhance engineering efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and drive technological advancements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of HVAC engineering experience, with at least 3 years managing teams of 3-5 engineers. Demonstrated success in bringing new products to market, particularly in heat pump technology. Expertise in HVAC product development, system design, or optimization of heat pumps Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat pump cycles, and HVAC mechanical systems. Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and HVAC design software (e.g., Carrier HAP, EnergyPlus). Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively engage team members and stakeholders.
