Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
Summary of the position:
1) Assist students, parents, and
NCAT community members and others involved with the student conduct process.
2) Insure accuracy in documenting and filing of all written records related to the student conduct process.
3) Coordinate the recruitment and training of volunteers for student conduct hearing panels.
4) Serve as procedural advisor to hearing officers and hearing boards, as assigned. |

The Office of the Dean of Students seeks to promote ethical conduct and responsible student behavior by educating the student on expected standards of behavior. This office further assists the student to consider in advance the consequences of behavioral infractions and to maturely accept accountability for his/her behavior.
The Office of the Dean of Students assists the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in the overall administration of the Division of Student Affairs, which includes student services, student life, and student development for undergraduate and graduate students. The office strives to promote campus safety and harmony by maintaining an environment consistent with the educational purposes and operations of the university.
The Dean of Students serves in an advocacy role to improve student life through cooperation and collaboration with the university community. The Office of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the university student conduct processes and procedures. |

Process and maintains all student disciplinary records in a comprehensive and confidential manner.
Downloads all Student Incident Reports from submitted Incident Reports, and disseminates to Dean of Students and/or Director of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct.
Reviews, verifies, and releases student Disciplinary Records with the signed consent from students as requested by students to employees, schools, state bar, student organizations for membership.
Handles distribution and processing of documents for Hearing notice letters to the people who are involved in the hearing process and the disposition as it relates to
FERPA.
Maintains accurate paper filing of the contents of student Disciplinary file folders, Community Service Records, Release of Information Forms, and recordings of Hearings. |

Utilizes the Judicial Records Management System for the filing and retrieval of Student Disciplinary information into and from the Judicial Records Management System.
