THE JOB: As an Assistant Stewarding Manager for Conventions & Banquets, you will play an integral role in leading and supporting the operational functions of our back-of-house food and beverage department. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage teams will ensure seamless operations that uphold the highest standards. In this dynamic role, you will contribute to the planning and execution of large-scale events and conventions, fostering a collaborative work environment while maintaining efficiency and productivity. THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and budget objectives.
- Oversee a team of 10 employees, providing clear direction and feedback, and ensuring staff are well-trained and prepared for their roles.
- Maintain and manage inventory, including detailed record-keeping and ensuring optimal stock levels of dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
- Partner with front-of-house captains and the culinary team to coordinate equipment requests and address operational needs.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Oracle for inventory management and reporting.
- Act as a key communicator between various departments, ensuring that event and operational requirements are met efficiently.
- Adapt to high-volume work environments and handle last-minute client requests with poise and effective problem-solving.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 2 years of prior experience working in banquets & conventions or similar experience.
- Experience being in a lead, supervisory, or management role in a food and beverage environment.
- Familiarity with managing large events with a high-volume of guests.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on leader who is adaptable, proactive, and capable of maintaining composure under pressure.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with team members and other departments.
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods and navigating a large property.
