What does the Marketing Manager do?

The Marketing Manager manages the planning, directing, and coordination of marketing services for the assigned location, practice or region. Ensures products and services are marketed in accordance with budgeted objectives to achieve maximum profitability. Creates the marketing plans to meet changing marketing and competitive conditions. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards and Shared Values.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of marketing strategies that drive patient acquisition, support branding and company culture while showcasing abilities of the practice across multiple cultures.
  • Responsible for the project management and implementation of tactical marketing initiatives for the Practice.
  • Tracks the effectiveness of content to support marketing communication objectives.
  • Develops relationships with internal and external sources to assist with the needs of the department. Manages vendor and team relationships as necessary to support public relations, communications and database management requirements.

Marketing/Marketing Strategy

  • Manages the development and preparation of short-term and long-range marketing services plans based on corporate goals and objectives to ensure profit growth and expansion of products and services.
  • Manages network-wide communications and public relations program throughout the corporation.
  • Ensures coordination of all company communication programs by keeping appropriate staff informed and providing expertise and assistance as needed.
  • Identifies and manages the development of marketing tools to assist in the message delivery efforts of all market segments.
  • Support content production and design that aligns with customer segments, working daily with Design, Medical, and Content Creative teams.
  • Monitors markets, industries, and companies to maintain an updated information base.
  • Participates in industry organizations and develops useful contacts, knowledge, and trends to cultivate new product ideas.
  • Develops and recommends expansion of products or services based on sound market and financial analysis.
  • Implements advertising and public relations policies and formulates general advertising and public relations campaigns in support of corporate and field marketing activity.
  • Prepares marketing services/advertising budgets based on an understanding of company operations and objectives as well as customer needs and prospective markets.
  • Implements product or service modification based on research or communication with appropriate field staff. Ensures company capitalizes on market opportunities.
  • Identifies patient success stories and work with team to create appropriate case studies and collateral.
  • Manages advertising creation and media placement. Assures the accurate distribution of costs to appropriate organizational levels.
  • Manages the preparation of copy for advertisements, brochures, booklets, press releases, and direct mail pieces

Reporting/Data Analytics

  • Develops and distributes pertinent reports that prove beneficial in supporting marketing services and management. Ensures timely generation and summarization of marketing reports.
  • Analyzing website call to action conversion rates and the effectiveness of promotions to determine what drives sales.
  • Collaborate to create, launch and track performance of product and service offerings in our markets.
  • Evaluates market reactions to advertising and PR programs and products/services formulation and adjusts strategies and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Demonstrate effective management of the marketing, advertising and promotional activities of the organization and demonstrate ROI

Channel Growth

  • Drive channel roadmaps and execution, identifying, sizing, and pursuing new opportunities for channel growth, including focus on Hispanic market
  • Execute initiatives to drive patient growth and retention across the funnel
  • Support strategy and execution across marketing channels and liaisons as supports customer growth and conversion
  • Ensures that marketing activities are planned, managed, and controlled in order to maximize potential benefit to the company within budgetary guidelines.
  • Manages all aspects of corporate functions and conferences including meeting strategy, planning, budget, advertising, communication, setup/breakdown, negotiating with external vendors, and post-function evaluation.
  • Functionally oversees and delegates all resources related to the support of corporate conferences.

Management

  • As required, oversees the activities of Marketing Specialists and other marketing support staff.
  • Establish effective working relationships with practices, liaisons and agency leadership to ensure that our products and services are implemented through sales enablement and marketing demand
  • Execute online and offline marketing initiatives, integrating online and new media, email, print, direct mail, social media, company websites, SEM/SEO strategy development, brand awareness and drip marketing initiatives. The ability to speak to how these channels work together is imperative.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related degree.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in marketing/advertising.
  • Prior marketing experience in a Health Care setting and supervisory/liaison experience preferred.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with excellent cross-cultural communication skills, as well as the following:

  • Excellent writing and copy-editing abilities.
  • Knowledge of market research impact on product and campaign development
  • Knowledgeable on principles, practices and techniques of marketing strategies
  • Experience analyzing data
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Budget and cost analysis experience
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Project management experience
  • Experience running large scope projects with cross-over departments and large teams

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
