Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, a Senior Health Systems Programmer/Analyst is a valuable member of our team who will develop and support all applications/systems that the Clinical Information Systems department is responsible for. The incumbent may be assigned to a project team as part of technical build resource, or support any production systems to ensure the availability of the applications. The Clinical Systems Application Specialist may also oversee the work of other analysts as needed. The Senior Health Systems Programmer/Analyst will be responsible for working directly with end users to obtain build specifications as well as building in Oracle/Cerner Millennium. They will also investigate and resolve Oracle/Cerner application issues using core tools such as Bedrock, Discern, Core Code Builder, Core Event Manager, etc. Daily responsibilities will include researching, designing and building new functionality as needed, working with clinical end users and the vendor to determine the best and most innovative solutions. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Experience with Oracle/Cerner Millennium applications * A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or related field will ensure that the incumbent has the conceptual skills required for this role. In lieu of computer science or information systems related degree, 6-8 years of experience as a healthcare IT Analyst will be considered * Minimum four (4) years of IT experience in a complex healthcare environment, preferably in academic medical centers or tertiary care settings supporting and implementing applications in a client server environment * IT related experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. * Proficient in MS Office Products Preferred Qualifications:

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position is - $85313 - $114820 / year. The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience.
