Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the graduate programs in Computer Science;
  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors with monitoring the progress of M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students towards graduation;
  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors with the recruitment of new applicants to the graduate programs;
  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors in responding to student queries;
  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors in outreach to alumni and keeping track of alumni;
  • Monitors the Graduate Admissions portal for new applicants and assists with outreach to incomplete applications;
  • Coordinates new international applications with the ISSS office;
  • Processes stipends and tuition reimbursement for support of new and continuing graduate students;
  • In consultation with the Chairperson/Program Director, monitors the Graduate Activity Fee budget account;
  • In consultation with the Graduate Program Directors, assists with assignments of teaching assistants.
  • Assists with registration of graduate students, and performs other duties as required;
  • Assists and coordinates departmental events such as new student orientation and end-of-semester celebration;
  • Assists with maintaining and updating the graduate website and graduate handbook;
  • Assists the Administrative Assistant as needed;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Cyber Security Center Support:

  • Support the Loyola Center for Cybersecurity. Key responsibilities include
  • Assist the Director of the Center in all administrative duties including course and program updates with various university organizations
  • Organization and support for Center activities, including but not limited to, CAE designation; cybersecurity club assistance with room scheduling, catering, and others; cybersecurity seminars
  • Assist with managing CyberSecurity Lab space, budget, and manage ordering and inventory of all equipment
  • Resource for students needing access to department resources, Center faculty, etc.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience in an office setting.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and one to three years of relevant experience; some positions may require additional experience.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of administration.
  • Excellent organizational skills and punctuality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to Interact with individuals at various levels throughout the university.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Computer Skills
Intermediate MS Word processing, MS Excel Spreadsheet, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint. Adept user of Internet, e-mail and similar systems. Experience with web content management preferred.
