Clinical Nurse Specialist - MICU Pod 5- MSN and 3 years exp required

Sign on bonus at 180 days of $10,000 for newly hired candidate to this role

• MICU Pod 5&6 # of beds: Pod 5 12; Pod 6 is 8
• Patient Ratio: 1:2, sometimes 1:1
• The position is split to cover Pods 4,5&6. This is 32 beds total.
• We have another CNS that covers Pods 1,2&3. The two positions would work very closely together as our MICUs collaborate across 3 Nurse Managers and 6 pods.
• 36 hours per week
• Day shift

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Nursing Administrator(s)/Leadership, provides leadership and clinical expertise within the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) spheres of influence to improve patient care, advance nursing practice and impact the health care delivery system.

Functions as a leadership team member as a partner with the Nurse Manager/Director to assure competence, practice standards, orientation and education.

The CNS serves as a clinical expert providing teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management and systems improvement in a specific practice area or with a patient population.

Unit Overview:
