With a new, permanent home at UCF's Academic Health Sciences Center, we will have more space to prepare more Knight nurses with academic excellence and more opportunity to impact more lives with innovative, interdisciplinary research.

UCF College of Nursing will be moving to UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona, anticipated to open in Fall 2025.

The Opportunity:

The position is to be an active role player in healthcare simulations. The role player can be standardized patient. This may include a student practicing health assessment skill which may include but not limited to a blood pressure check, listening to lungs and heart, and other assessments that require the physical assessment and touch by the student of the role player standardized patient. The role player will have a script to utilize as a guide in educational interactions.

Responsibilities:


  • The role player will need to participate in healthcare simulation involving women of childbearing age.

  • Training on FERPA and a background check will be required.

  • Arrival 30 minutes prior to the start of the simulation is required and appropriate attire for the role is based upon the script and is not provided by the STIM Center.

  • Feedback to the student will be required related to therapeutic alliance and communication.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Willingness to learn a role and be an active participant within a scenario.

  • Acting or role play experience.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The selected candidate must be a woman of childbearing age willing to participate in healthcare simulation.
