Summary

The Program Director Nursing Evidence Based Research reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of research and evidence-based practices (EBP) throughout the nursing division. This position will promote a culture of inquiry throughout the health system, ensuring that clinical practices are aligned with the latest research, quality standards, and evidence-based practices. The Director collaborates with nursing leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners, to drive initiatives that improve patient safety, quality of care, patient outcomes, and nursing excellence across the organization utilizing the latest evidence-based practices. This Director provides expert consultation in conducting nursing research, the application of evidence-based nursing practice, and leading activities to ensure excellence in quality, adequate funding, and the dissemination of nursing research and EBP. The Director will play a key role in leading research and EBP activities for the interdisciplinary group of colleagues within the system. A key objective is to raise the profile of nursing evidence-based practice and research in the healthcare community as well as providing leadership to individuals in conducting research.

Requirements

Education: Masters degree in Nursing or a related field (PhD, DNP preferred) Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.

Experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Minimum of 5-7 years of nursing experience with at least 3 years in leadership roles. Strong background in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement, and clinical research. Ability to review and interpret emerging data and proactively implement measures to ensure delivery of quality study results. Accomplished advanced skills in human relations, communications, and inter-professional collaboration. Ability to navigate a complex matrixed environment and coach/mentor teams that are diverse in terms of expertise, background, and geography on research related initiatives.

Certification: Society for Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) - Preferred

License: Registered Nurse Licensure State of Florida

Other: Demonstrates command of standard research study designs and implementation strategic and knowledge and ability to use computer applications in the analysis of data, writing, and presentation of information. Ability to use research and data to influence improvement in clinical quality and efficiency.
