Warehouse Manager (Flooring)

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Flooring Warehouse Manager is responsible for the condition of the warehouse and facilities, product and movement into and out of the warehouse, assists with deliveries, installations and any other special assignments. They supervise the Warehouse Members and Leads and have a deep understanding of their responsibilities to help foster a collaborative, safe and efficient work environment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Schedules incoming product shipments, check in and stage materials that were delivered.

2. Supervises and assists in safe unloading of all delivered products, which includes:

a. assuring product is not damaged or scratched while being unloaded and/or stored. Noting all damage on shipping documents and obtain appropriate signatures.

b. Marking each carton received with the required information

3. Monitor inventory stock levels, ensuring the availability of products needed for installation and customer orders. Order new stock when needed and use all information available to obtain best pricing to support financial success.

4. Follows up and determines final disposition of product returned from job sites in a timely manner.

5. Assures that no product leaves the warehouse without the proper paperwork.

6. Pulls, stages and assists with the assembly and loading of product to be delivered according to delivery tickets.

7. Assures product is loaded in a safe and timely manner to avoid injury to warehouse and delivery personnel and damage to product.

8. Coordinate pick-up of materials with vendors, deliveries to jobsites, and help with arrangements for shipping of packages requested by other company departments.

9. Cartons and returns- complete Retuned Goods Authorization for products when authorized by manufacturer.

10. Assures minimal or no warehouse damage of product stored by:

a. Being trained and then training team members in product handling techniques.

b. Handling product carefully utilizing appropriate materials handling equipment.

11. Supervises warehouse team members including training, coaching & development, guidance on proper safety procedures and performance management

12. Stores all product in bays in an organized, identifiable and retrievable manner which utilizes the warehouse space efficiently.

13. Supervises the maintenance of lift trucks and grounds fencing, and assists with repairs when required

14. Complete cut jobs for order fulfillment

15. Work closely with flooring Operations Manager to:

a. Resolve any significant problems current or anticipated.

b. Assist with delivery and installation functions when necessary to meet customer needs

16. Work with other leaders in the business to complete necessary assignments and drive business success.

17. Act as liaison for documents to/from installers such as certified payroll.

18. Assists customers when appropriate.

19. Participates in weekly training and safety meetings.

20. Assures the security of the warehouse and vehicles

Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified forklift operator and trainer
  • Computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office
