Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Digital Media Assistant for the Office of University Online Education Services ( UOES). This position is involved with multiple roles or assignments as part of the process of creating professional studio and/or digital media productions, and will produce quality video products that are engaging, effective, and creative.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Handles HD camera operation and SLR camera handling (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, focal length, depth of field).
  • Captures creating and profession still and motion photography.
  • Records live events, interview, footage, etc.
  • Provides audio and sound mixer support.
  • Performs digital editing, color correction, and graphics using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
  • Performs digital file encoding.
  • Assists with lighting.
  • Coordinates technical processes and equipment for video shoots.
  • Provides general technical training support of production assistants.
  • Provides general studio operations support.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to broadcast studio, educational video, or digital media production environment.
  • Exposure to any or all of the following technologies: Adobe Premier, HD and 4K video cameras, green screen, audio/video switchers, motion graphic design, as well as streaming technology.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to follow direction and work under deadlines.

Equipment Utilized

  • HD camera.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule that may include evenings or weekends.
