THE JOB:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven National Sales Manager for our Northeast Market to oversee the negotiation and contracting of room rates and meeting space for large group events with 301+ rooms on peak nights. This role will focus on securing future business opportunities within an assigned market, nurturing relationships with major accounts, and driving revenue growth. The National Sales Manager will also be responsible for traveling to raise awareness and promote group business, including participation in sales trips, tradeshows, and other industry events, while ensuring the organization maintains a competitive position in response to evolving market trends and customer needs.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Evaluate and manage client inquiries, pre-qualify leads, negotiate rates, issue proposals and contracts, and process bookings, ensuring all actions align with established departmental guidelines
  • Develop and expand new and existing accounts to exceed revenue goals through proactive prospecting, sales calls, entertaining, and conducting site inspections, utilizing persuasive verbal and written communication
  • Represent the company at tradeshows, client and industry events, ensuring alignment with corporate standards
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to maximize hotel revenue by promoting all services and amenities
  • Contribute to and execute the strategic plan for the assigned geographic territory, in alignment with departmental objectives
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork across MGMRI properties and departments, while promoting performance, feedback, recognition, respect, and employee satisfaction

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) years of prior relevant experience in Hotel Sales, Hospitality Sales, or Convention Sales
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with company goals
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address client needs while maximizing company revenue
  • Expertise in cultivating and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Expertise in managing contract room rates and meeting space for large group events
  • Achieve established monthly individual, room night and revenue goals
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
