Your Role With Us:

Under the guidance of the SHMG Clinical Practice & Safety Nurse Manager, this role supports outpatient SHMG RNs and clinical staff by ensuring consistency in clinical standards, workflows, and regulatory readiness. The nurse collaborates with clinic leadership, staff, and providers to promote patient safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Practice & Onboarding Support:

    • Develop and implement standardized workflows, protocols, and best practices.
    • Train new and existing clinical staff and conduct regular check-ins.
    • Oversee integration of new clinics into systems and processes.
    • Perform audits, participate in safety investigations, and support EMR workflow improvements.
    • Manage multiple initiatives and communicate with leadership professionally.
  2. Continuous Improvement:

    • Create and refine standard work processes.
    • Apply lean tools to optimize efficiency and eliminate waste.
    • Identify and act on opportunities for process enhancement.
  3. Other Duties:

    • Maintain confidentiality, follow policies, and document action items.
    • Provide general support to the department as needed.

    Background/Expertise:

    Education:

    • Bachelor of Science - Nursing (BSN) - Bachelor of Arts in Nursing also accepted

    Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:

    • Registered Nurse - Current and unencumbered license to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon required
    • Basic Life Support

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, constructively. * Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Understanding of medical terminology. * Capability to compute basic statistical data and manage relational databases. * Adaptability to frequent interruptions while maintaining performance under pressure. * Demonstrates ability to lead & coach others. * Experience with reviewing & implementing regulatory guidance for compliance. * Strong understanding of how to develop and implement clinical protocols and workflows in collaboration with EMR system. * Strong understanding of how clinical practice impacts clinic financial outcomes. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
