The Sacramento office of SmithGroupis looking for aSenior Construction Administratorto join our team.

Working with us, you will:




  • Serve as an region-wide resource providing guidance on unusual or complex issues.



  • Provide internal leadership in attaining timely resolution of questions and submittals received during the construction process.



  • Work closely with design architects, technical architects and owners in development of documentation as well as construction administration follow through.





  • Generate field reports and documents in accordance with the standards of the SmithGroup and clients.



  • Maintain records at the job site in an orderly manner including correspondence, Contract Documents, Change Orders, requests for information, Construction Change Directives, meeting minutes, shop drawings, product data and other submittals, requests for payment and the project directory.



  • Assist in resolving design related issues so that the project is competed to the specified scope and quality, without delay and without undue costs.



  • Assist with the administration of the construction contract(s)



  • Observe quality of construction to determine in general if the work is being performed in conformance with the Contract Documents.



  • Mentor junior staff and participate in performance coaching.



  • Participate in the recruitment and interviewing process as requested.




An ideal candidate has:




  • Minimum 15 - 20 years' of professional experience in the Architecture/Construction Industry, experience on healthcare projects preferred.



  • Construction contract administration experience with a variety of building use and construction types. Special emphasis on health care projects.



  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred.



  • Experience leading project groups.



  • Proficiency with and experience using current design software including Revit and SketchUp.



  • Knowledge of BIM modeling concepts and responsibilities.



  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication and organizational skills, facilitating the development of trusted relationships with clients and staff.





SmithGroup's competitive compensation and benefit package is designed meet the needs of a diverse staff. The anticipated salary range for this position is $129,000 to $152,000 annually, at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for this position. Additionally, an employee in this position is eligible for a performance-based bonus on an annual basis. Our comprehensive benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We provide an opportunity to invest in your future through our401(k) program with employer matching and a continuing educationreimbursement. We offer 3 weeks of paid time off within the first year of employment, with the option of purchasing additional time off, 8 paid federal holidays, and parental leave benefits.
