This department typically works Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am-5pm.

Summary: This position exists within the Overdraft environment and requires consistent attainment of Centier's "Essentials of Excellence." This role continually works with peers and Managers to improve efficiencies, quality, and solutions to client issues. This position requires significant telephone contact with internal and external clients and works closely with Overdraft Advantage clients to manage and resolve negative account situations. This includes, but is not limited to, communicating with program vendors, the core processing provider, the Deposit Operations team and other departments within the organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process the bank's Overdraft Program while following set guidelines and ensuring consistency, fairness, and good judgment with decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with branches, clients, supervisors, and third-party vendors.
  • Escalate negative accounts to the charge-off desk for preparation for closure based on program guidelines.
  • Produce and deliver client correspondence timely
  • Handle Reg E requests as directed by client.
  • Make outbound phone calls and respond to client calls with professionalism.
  • Work closely with clients to manage and resolve overdraft situations.
  • Oversee the creation, review and maintenance of detailed reports to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the program data.
  • Perform appropriate maintenance on accounts, and CIF records in bank systems
  • Set up New Start Repayment plan according to the guidelines that exist in the current Overdraft program.
  • Assist branch, CSC associates and external clients with questions regarding account and overdraft activity, and repayments
  • Process daily overdraft-related fee refund requests received from retail and management teams.
  • Support the Charge off desk tasks, including preparing accounts for closure and reporting to the appropriate agencies.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Associate must be willing to cross-train and assist in other areas within Deposit Operations, as needed for backup, growth, and career enhancement purposes.
  • Responsible for training and development of new associates.
  • Assists in planning new processes, forms and the update and upkeep of procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with complex processes, policies, and forms with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert
  • Extensive functional training and flexibility to deadlines and workloads
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in their work.
  • Ability to exercise good independent judgement in decision-making
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to perform a variety of repetitive tasks independently, in a team environment.
  • Adaptable and open to learning new processes and technologies
  • Willingness and ability to participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in banking or related experience
  • Proficiency in using banking software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications
