- The Communications Security (COMSEC) Specialist shall interpret and utilize Key Management Infrastructure Operating Account (KOA) instructions to ensure files are maintained and destroyed in accordance with regulation.
- Shall assist the KOA Manager and KOA Alternate(s) Manager with routine administrative account matters and general file maintenance.
- The COMSEC Specialist shall perform page checks and enter amendments and corrections in KOA-related publications and documentation; sign receipts, inventory, and destruction reports as a witness only; and review and updating markings on COMSEC material.
- Shall accompany and assist personnel in maintaining Two Person Integrity when delivering, picking up and processing KOA material: marking, packaging, and wrapping COMSEC material for transport or shipping. This includes working with Local Elements (LE) to ensure proper safeguards and compliances are in place for audits, inventory management, and random spot checks.
- The COMSEC Specialist shall administer, up to and including, top-secret inventory and document control programs to account for COMSEC equipment and materials. Inventories shall be conducted per agency policy and report discrepancies to the Government site lead.
- Shall perform, review and correct refresher COMSEC and Crypto briefings and employee training on processes and procedures in accordance with the required references.
- The COMSEC Specialist role requires regular and reoccurring physical exertion such as moderate period of standing, walking, bending, stooping, researching, crawling, and similar activities when accessing/inspecting installations and activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Must be able to lift or assist in a two person lift moving packages and bulky equipment up to 75 pounds
- This position requires: strong task management, excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, and providing a high level of customer services with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- This position requires proficiency in Microsoft products.
Minimum/General Experience: Two years of experience:
- Witnessing, delivering, picking up, and processing KOA
- Reviewing, updating, and applying status
- File destruction
- Performing two person integrity
One year of experience:
- Conducting page checks
- Executing material
- Providing COMSEC briefings and training.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and two years of experience, or,
- Six years of experience and a HS diploma/GED.
