Audit Support, Journeyman (Policy)

Cherokee Nation System Solutions, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Audit Support, Journeyman (Policy) professional to support internal audit workflows for our federal client, the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). In this role, you will coordinate audit activities, fulfill auditor PBC requests, and ensure compliance with FISMA standards. The ideal candidate has experience in audit support, policy compliance, and account monitoring, with a strong ability to document procedures and analyze discrepancies. This is a remote position requiring a Public Trust clearance.

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Audit Support, Journeyman (Policy): Pay commensurate with experience.

Audit Support, Journeyman (Policy) Responsibilities Include:



  • Provide knowledge and support to the internal audit process, ensuring PBC requests from auditors are fulfilled accurately and within specified deadlines.
  • Participate in audit demonstrations and presentations as required to support audit objectives and clarify procedures for the audit team.
  • Conduct daily and weekly account monitoring to identify, analyze, and report on account discrepancies, approvals, and deletions, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Document and develop procedural documentation to support FISMA compliance activities and account monitoring workflows.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of compliance documentation, ensuring consistency and alignment with audit and policy requirements.
  • Communicate findings and discrepancies to relevant stakeholders, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures related to audit compliance and account management, contributing to the overall improvement of internal controls.
  • Perform daily account monitoring to ensure account separations compliance policy is enforced.
  • Perform as primary point of contact for auditors regarding IT related questions and requests.
  • Translate technical terminology into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings between auditors and relevant IT personnel.
  • Coordinate responses to audit findings and recommendations.
  • Perform monthly audit logging monitoring
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Audit Support, Journeyman (Policy) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in audit support, policy compliance, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of FISMA standards and requirements for account monitoring and documentation.
  • Proficiency in managing audit workflows, responding to PBC requests, and coordinating with internal teams to fulfill audit requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with account monitoring tools and experience in discrepancy analysis and reporting.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills, with experience in creating procedural and policy documentation.
    • Prior experience supporting audits in a federal or regulated environment is a plus.
