What You'll Do

For this role we are specifically looking for 2 rising Junior or Seniors curious and eager tojoin the Government Markets Community Engagement Teamthis summer!The Program Development intern will work on the front end of program ideation and development, and the Engagement intern will work on the back end of communications and marketing to engage the community around our centers. During the interview process, we'll help you discover which role aligns best with your skills and interests, ensuring you have a fulfilling and exciting summer internship experience.

Program Development Intern

  • Assist in Program Development: Support the creation and enhancement of community programs focused on food access, care access, and youth mental health.

  • Conduct Market Research: Gather and analyze data to inform program strategies and identify community needs.

  • Data Entry and Evaluation: Input and manage data for program evaluation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with community and county engagement teams, as well as the healthcare team, to coordinate efforts and share insights.

  • External Partnership Coordination: Liaise with vendors and nonprofit partners to facilitate program implementation and maintain strong relationships.

Engagement Intern

  • Marketing & Communications: Assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and engagement across various platforms.

  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to measure the effectiveness of engagement strategies and provide actionable insights.

  • Community Engagement: Support initiatives that foster positive relationships with local communities, including organizing events and outreach programs.

  • Content Creation: Create compelling content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to engage and inform stakeholders.

  • Feedback & Improvement: Gather feedback from community members and stakeholders to continuously improve engagement efforts and ensure a positive impact.

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior an accredited university or college

  • Abilityto work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks from May19- July25, 2025

  • Located inNorth Carolina during the internship program.

  • Background in or understanding of social media engagement and strategy.

  • You're energized by our mission to improve the health and well-being of our communities.

  • Interest in community engagement

  • You bring positive energy,enjoy collaboratingwith others, hearing other perspectives, and sharing your own creative ideas.

  • Experience working with diverse populations.

  • Interest in Public Health

Compensation

  • Undergraduates: Rising Sophomore: $18/hr

  • Undergraduates: Rising Junior/Senior: $21/hr

  • Returning Interns: $23/hr

  • Masters Students/JD: $27/hr

  • MBA Students/PharmD:$36/hr

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
