Position Title: Director - Reporting & Analytics

Position Summary: (General statements regarding the overall objective of the position)

The Director - Reporting & Analysts will lead a team of Business Intelligence (BI) developers, Data Scientists and Analysts to ensure the seamless delivery of data initiatives that deliver strategic insights by leveraging data. This role will institute an enterprise operating model for reporting and analytics that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the overall data strategy. Responsible for overseeing delivery models, methods and practices for creation of data products and ensures consistent application and use of data and analytics solutions. Guides senior leadership with strategic, data-driven insights and recommendations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defines and prioritizes the delivery roadmap for data products and BI solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders. Oversees multiple, concurrent data and BI projects ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery including establishing and managing timelines, resource allocation, and project risks for delivery across teams. Ensures effective stakeholder communication and change management to meet business needs and expectations.
  • Engages with SMEs, collaborates, assigns, and monitors work intake processes. Partners with Data Architects, Engineers, BI Developers, located onsite and offshore to deliver reports and visualizations in conjunction with defined Service Line Agreements (SLAs). Operationalize insights through development of dashboards.
  • Builds strong relationships and interfaces with Data Architects, Engineers, business stakeholders, product owners, analysts, and managers to understand their data needs as it relates to analytics solutions, delivering operational and analytical reports and dashboards. Advocates for data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Maintains a high level of familiarity with standard business metrics such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV), Peer Comparisons, and other executive-level metrics.
  • Ensures all technology delivery systems are compliant with industry regulations and security standards. Implements and maintains best practices for security and governance.
  • Establishes a data and AI governance framework to manage data quality, consistency, availability, and usage across the organization.
  • Builds and leads all aspects of a team of employees for assigned functional areas through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, mentor and support, performance management, and managerial activities.
  • Responsible for relevant vendor and contract management.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Licensure, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience

Certifications:

Cloud Certifications in Azure, Snowflake, PowerBI

Experience:

  • 15+ years relevant experience. Banking/financial services industry preferred.
  • Previous management experience leading a team of onsite and offshore developers, delivering ad-hoc & canned reports and dashboards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced business knowledge and leadership capability to lead enterprise data and technology teams that perform the functions of Reporting, Business Intelligence, Data Science, and Analytics.
  • Strong technical and business acumen skills.
  • Results oriented with a sense of urgency. Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Expertise in driving business outcomes by identifying and operationalizing data, building, articulating, and delivering business cases around data use or data-centric business strategy.
  • Experience with strategic data architecture, information systems, and visualization techniques.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with a focus on leveraging data to improve business processes and automate and integrate critical workflows using big data and predictive analytics.
  • Knowledge and direct experience with modern dataarchitecture such as cloud-based platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), data lakes, operational, relational & dimensional data stores, visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik), ETL/ELT patterns & integration tools (ADF, Informatica, SSIS, FiveTran), Python, R and statistical data modeling tools, machine learning algorithms.

  • Our company offers a dynamic hybrid work arrangement, which requires three days of on-site work. Our retail roles are required to be onsite at the branch locations.
