This position will be posted internally until the close of business on 01/10.

Summary:

Responsible for labor management and scheduling, training, and Step Up Cards. Directs and manages the activities of hourly production personnel while safely and effectively serving the needs of the plant's production areas. Adheres to the labor contract and complies with regulatory requirements, company and plant policies and procedures.

In addition, the Manager of Labor Scheduling and Training:



  • Manages team and workload in accordance with annual budget
  • Responsible for the scheduling the daily lineups
  • Manage and coordinate daily and weekly overtime processes.
  • Plan and manage restricted labor in accordance with plant policies
  • Manage the job preference system
  • Track FMLA and ADA overtime hours.
  • Manage tardy and absentee tracking process
  • Manage internal job posting process.
  • Perform yearly wage continuance review
  • Manage the hourly employee job training and certification processes within annual budget
  • Lead Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training and certification processes
  • Support new hire onboarding, orientation and assessment processes
  • Ensure SUC's (Step Up Cards) are updated and accurately reflect the correct processes and procedures
  • Oversee the annual review process of all SUCs in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure the temporary workforce
  • Manage the temporary workforce orientation and training


Skills and Experience:



  • Knowledge of production systems
  • Managerial ability (communication, delegation, motivation, engagement, accountability, etc.)
  • Process oriented and focused on strategic vision of the site
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems
  • Decisive and able to work with ambiguity
  • Knowledge of product quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity working in a union environment
  • Ability to work with and relate to all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to read/interpret production performance reports.
  • Experience in manufacturing supervision.


Minimum Requirements and Education:



  • High school education or equivalent.
  • BA/BS Business Management or equivalent combination of formal supervisory training and experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience including 3 years first-line supervisory role.
