We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport's growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The Role

This is an 8-week program from June 10th through August 13th.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST

Hybrid schedule: Must be capable to work on-site 2-3 days per week at the National Campus - Orlando.

Hourly rate: $16.00

Looking for a qualified intern to work collaboratively with the USTA National Manager - Wheelchair Tennis to assist in executing grassroots initiatives related to the growth of wheelchair tennis in the United States. In this exciting internship opportunity, you will grow your knowledge of wheelchair sports, advocacy and programming for wheelchair athletes nationwide.

    Provide Support for the 50th Anniversary celebration events by assisting in presentation creation, player and provider outreach, join interdepartmental meetings, tackle to-do list tasks associated with the various events.
  • Learn the features of Tableau and build a Monthly Data Reports. After surveying and learning which KPIs are important to the sections, these reports can be generated monthly for long term access and impact.
  • Provide Support for US Open initiatives which include generating US Open Activation Calendar, helping with lead up check-lists & timelines, securing USO give-aways, assets, meal cards, etc.
  • Provide Support by reviewing outdated content on USTA.com, make suggestions and create website update documents for the National Manager and marketing team review & implement
  • Review the data from the past 4 years of National Grassroots Grants. Report on the high/low funding areas, repeat grantees, trends in programming and any other findings from the information that can guide future grant cycles.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • A keen interest in event planning, sports operations, and the tennis industry.
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
