This individual will be responsible for publication support and data organization. Under supervision, the individual will organize project data and sample workflow documentation, collect references and supporting documentation, create figures and tables, and proofread publications. The position also involves clinical research survey development and spatial transcript data analysis and interpretation. Continuing self-motivated education in aging research is expected.

Summary of Labs Research:

A Research Assistant position is available in the laboratory of Laura Niedernhofer. Our research program is focused on investigating the underlying causes of aging. We will be analyzing human samples using applications in spatialomics, proteomics and genomics for characterizing senescence in liver and adipose tissue. The candidate will join an exciting research environment in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics and the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The position offers exceptional training in clinical research, project organization, aging, age-related disease and pre-clinical testing of drugs.

Required:

* BA/BS degree in biomedical discipline or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
* Excellent written and communication skills
* Excellent computer and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, an ability to multitask and to work independently and remotely.

Preferred:
* Applicants should have an interest in health sciences and interest in working remotely.
* Knowledge of molecular biological laboratory procedures and experience in biological data collection and analysis.

Pay Range: $20 to $22/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
