Job Summary:
This position functions under close progressing to limited supervision of the Soils Laboratory Manager. Primary responsibilities include performing analytical procedures, preparing samples for testing, quality control monitoring, and method development. The employee will collaborate with the lab manager and other lab staff to determine testing priorities, and contribute to the efficient operation of the Soils Lab including training and working with undergraduate student workers. Responsibilities: Identifies, reviews, and develops new analytical methodologies and sample preparation techniques. Performs high complexity testing, manages testing services with broad implications to public health, and reports results for chemical constituents in specimens and samples collected from humans, plants, animals, or other environmental matrices. Serves as a subject matter technical expert.
