DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the incumbent oversees ordering, receiving, inspecting, and storing food service products, ensuring compliance with UCSD policies and maintaining accurate inventory systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining orderly and sanitary storage areas, providing stores accountability, and ensuring timely usage while upholding security standards.

The position is responsible for performing various storekeeper duties, adhering to departmental sanitation standards, conducting inventory of food, supplies, and equipment, and operating at an expert level. In the absence of the unit manager, the incumbent acts as a storekeeper and manager, supervising operations, cash handling, and customer service while training and mentoring staff. Additional duties include overseeing patient and retail food services and ensuring compliance with policies and quality standards. Other lead duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of storekeeping best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of receiving, requisitioning etc. using an MMIS.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and customers.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic calculations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Must be available to work weekends, variable days and hours, holidays, and occasional overtime.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $58,861 - $79,198 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.19 - $37.93

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
