Job Summary:
About the Position: This position is a part of our Transportation department within the Facilities Planning and Management Division at UW-Madison. The Facility Technician II position includes cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring the safety of our parking facilities on the University of Wisconsin Campus and Hospital. Use of industrial ramp sweepers, power washers, and other equipment to maintain parking structures along with manual cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming of stairwells, elevators, and other spaces as required can be expected. Some use of cleaning solutions will also be required. This position will also be interacting with the public on occasion and assisting other groups with other tasks. Preparing our parking facilities for construction projects and cleaning up after construction projects frequently will be expected as well. The expected schedule for this position is Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
About our Transportation Services department: UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs. Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.
About the Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M): The Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities. Responsibilities:
Inspects, maintains, and repairs basic equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, and operational maintenance as needed.
- 20% Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
- 50% Performs routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
- 5% Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
- 5% Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision
- 20% Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed

Salary:
Minimum $20.50 HOURLY Depending on Qualifications The minimum hourly rate for this position is $20.50, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive night differential of $2.50 per hour when you work between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
