Position Title: Program Manager - Technology

Position Summary:

The Program Manager - Technology is responsible for engaging the key stakeholders and business units of the organization in the pursuit of driving business outcomes via adoption and consumption of the digital workspace strategy. Exists to improve the organization's ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with IT service delivery and experience as aligned to adoption & implementation of the strategy. Supports strategic prioritization of IT services and related applications. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional leadership skills to ensure the successful delivery of these complex initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and drive projects ensuring alignment with the overall banking transformation program objective.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive program plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborates with Product Managers across multiple lines of business, external vendors, cross functional teams, including development, testing, infrastructure and operations to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Organize strategy, gap analysis work into Agile Release Team (ART), responsible for steering ART, facilitate program level events, PI preplanning and planning, scrum of scrums, PO sync, system demo, inspect and adapt.
  • Applies a structured methodology and leads technology change initiatives.
  • Works with stakeholders to assess the change's impact; conducts impact analysis, assesses change readiness, and identifies stakeholders.
  • Aligns resources for training.
  • Provides insights to Process Improvement Engineers to support prioritization of continuous improvement efforts and new process specifications.
  • Consults on change management assessments as a stakeholder.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and prepares risk mitigation tactics.
  • Coordinates efforts with others including IT Leadership, Stakeholder Leadership, Change Management, Transformation, and others.
  • Tracks and reports issues.
  • Defines and measures success metrics and monitors change progress.
  • Manages the strategic portfolio.
  • Consults proactively and reactively with lines of business to identify issues with IT service delivery or potential gaps in services.
  • Prepares statements of issue and communicates with appropriate IT partners or other lines of business as necessary, so that they may craft and implement effective solutions to IT strategic deliverables. Monitors the outcomes post implementation. Follows up as needed to get the desired result.
  • Develops Service Level Agreements with internal clients. Monitors performance to SLA on a regular basis. Takes appropriate action when SLA is below agreed to performance levels.
  • Provides insight to business partners and colleagues on strategic prioritization of IT services based upon organizational strategy and internal client issues surfaced.
  • Supports IT communications with internal clients in a way that resonates with the client and leverages principles of change management and IT change management.
  • Leverages metrics stories for constant improvement.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Licensure, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, mathematics or similar, or an equivalent mix of education and experience is required.

Licensure:

Following certifications are strongly preferred: Six Sigma Black Belt certification, Agile, PMP or PgmP Certification

Experience:

10+ years of experience in banking or financial services industry with 5-8 years Technical Program Management experience. A focus on banking technology or digital banking is preferred.

Agile Coaching experience preferred.

  • Maintains a broad understanding of the organization's IT environment.
  • Maintains overall industry knowledge on the latest trends, technology, etc.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to cultivate relationships across line of business channels.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in knowledge with SAFe Agile methodologies
  • Domain skills and Transformation Experience.
  • Deep understanding of core banking technology, systems and processes,
  • Strong technical background, including experience with relevant technologies (e.g., Java, .NET, SQL). Experience using tools like Jira, Confluence for program management and reporting
  • Strong experience in leading large bank transformation /conversion/ migration programs.
