Job Summary: The Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM). Responsibilities: Clinical track: 45% clinical responsibilities, 20% non-clinical teaching, 25% research, 10% service. Clinical responsibilities: Clinical service to the SAIM section of UW Veterinary Care; training and supervision of residents and interns; clinical teaching of 4th year veterinary students. Non-clinical teaching responsibilities: Didactic and laboratory course teaching. Research responsibilities: Contribute to and participate in basic or clinical research in the SAIM section, including mentoring of house officers in research. Service responsibilities: Involvement in committees at the Department, School, and University level, along with involvement nationally at the professional committee level. Participate in continuing education programs for veterinary practitioners in Wisconsin and beyond. Board certification or board eligibility in Small Animal Internal Medicine is required by start date. Qualifications: Academic experience beyond residency training is preferred. Relevant specialty practice experience can be substituted. Demonstrated aptitude in clinical instruction of DVM students, interns, and residents is expected. Distribution of effort in the section and the department will be determined by service needs, academic priorities, and the candidate's expertise and academic goals. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with all sections of the hospital and department. License/Certification: Required Wisconsin Veterinary License Must be eligible to obtain and maintain licensure to practice veterinary, by start date. Work Type: Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
