The bustling Hampton Inn Santa Monica and Courtyard Santa Monica are looking for a detail oriented Area Group Sales Manager to join our team. This role will work directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Director of Revenue Management for both properties to negotiate pricing and optimize production to positively impact hotel revenues.

This is an overtime eligible manager (OEM) position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Work directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Director of Revenue Management for both properties to negotiate pricing and optimize production to positively impact hotel revenues.
  • Building relationships through proactive account solicitation and responsive sales opportunities; Activities could include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, site inspections, trade shows, etc.
  • Responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new group business from a variety of markets while strengthening the relationships and production of existing group accounts.
  • Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
  • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides accurate & comprehensive reporting when needed.
  • Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue.
  • Understanding competitors' strengths/ weaknesses, current economic trends, and supply/demand for midtown.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (I.E., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, etc.).
  • Achieves personal sales goals.
  • Gains understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, and business concerns, offering better business solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:




    • A minimum of two years of hotel group sales experience is required.



    • The ideal candidate will have local market experience.


    • Ability to travel between properties to conduct site tours and other business.
