Develops and integrates effective strategies and processes, incorporating benchmarking best practices and ensuring an effective overall management of interrelated Procurement operations functions (Policies, Procedures, Business Planning, and Operations/Systems). Partners with Procurement Leadership team and ESD & Corporate Services peers to develop and provide consistent strategic programs, initiatives, processes, reporting and tools to create a sustainable, best in class Procurement organization capable of creating significant value across PG&E. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location at OGO, in Oakland, California. Reporting Relationship The Director, ESD & Corp Services Procurement will report to the Chief Procurement Officer. Job Responsibilities Procurement Strategy:
- Responsible for coordinating and integrating strategic planning and annual operating plans through strategic oversight of goal/target setting, business planning, metrics. Oversees department strategy plans to deliver strategic, ESD & Corporate Services focused plans which demonstrate value of supplier cost savings, warehouse operations, safety, compliance and risk mitigation.
- Partners with the ESD & Corporate Services VP's / Sr Directors and participates in strategic meetings.
- Responsible for developing and managing Demand / Contract plans for their areas.
- Executes the program management of key procurement programs such as Customer Procurement Plans, Supplier Performance Scorecards, and Savings Funnel Reports.
- Validates supplier cost savings, coordinates reviews and signoffs from ESD & Corporate Services finance managers, and develops financial reports to ensure savings are resulting in bottom line improvements.
Procurement Support:
- Provides supplier spend and market cost analysis, develops cost modeling, and targets cost analysis; creates value propositions and business cases to drive savings. Provides education and training for continuous improvement and knowledge growth in Supply Chain talent and succession planning.
- Works with the Strategic Sourcing Category Managers to develop category plans.
- Work closely with PG&E Procurement on supplier negotiation strategy, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risks, and oversee contract compliance throughout the supplier lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including FA Finance, Procurement, Legal, and respective Business Units stakeholders (as needed), to align partner activities with broader business strategies and objectives.
Governance & Policy:
- Sets the direction for Governance & Policy coordination with ESD & Corporate Services for consistent integration of Procurement policies and activities (regulatory, compliance). Incorporates best practices and enhances policies and operating procedures including changes to contractual terms and conditions; coordinates the introduction and implementation of new contractual language and supplier requirements.
Business Operations:
- Provides leadership and effective management in all areas of administration, talent management, project execution, maintenance and governance, information technology and development.
- Works collaboratively with Directors across the Procurement organization to develop, implement and monitor operating plans which moves the organization to operational effectiveness, productivity and compliance.
- Creates and monitors benchmarking opportunities by developing relationships and forums with peer organizations to understand industry specific performance.
- Collaborates with Directors across Procurement to develop and implement planning and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, annual and long-term basis.
- Leads Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for Functional Area Categories and runs the Business Reviews.
- Develop quantitative analysis and reporting on third party partner performance.
- Works with Functional Area to validate performance against contracts including Statement of Work's.
- Engage in and resolve supplier performance issues via corrective actions, problem solving and action plans.
- Partner with Procurement to ensure optimal sourcing decisions with focus on cost, quality, and alignment with FA goals.
- Develop Visual Management tools which allow leadership deep insight to partner performance, spend, compliance and other key metrics.
- Implement and ensure tight controls and governance for supplier spend and on-time delivery.
- Drive Cross-functional Collaboration and strong stakeholder engagement / communications.
- Manage, track, and ensure contract renewals are completed timely, identifying efficiencies aligned with PG&E financial goals.

Compensation PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill beplaced towards the middle or entry pointof the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors. A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum: $163,000 Bay Area Maximum: $277,000 Background Qualifications Minimum
- BA/BS in area of Economics, Business Finance or Supply Chain, or related experience.
- 10 years of total supply chain or finance related industry experience.
- Project Management experience, Utility and non-Utility industry experience, Management Consulting experience, International Business / Sourcing experience.
- Planned travel requirements are 10-20%.
