The Shared Services Center (SSC) is a multifaceted center that provides transactional support and processing, travel related support and processing, financial management, payroll support, and institutional support services across multiple and varied funding sources. The SSC is comprised of three functional areas: Procure-to-Pay, Travel and Training, and Financial Management and Reporting.

What you will do:
As a member of the Shared Services Center (SSC) you will be part of a team-focused, fast-paced, demanding, and continuously evolving environment. The Financial Services Associate will monitor daily workflow to ensure stability, quality, and timeliness of transaction processing; approve and audit transactions generated by Account Representative IV's in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, procurement, student employment, general ledger, capital asset management; and provide financial management, analysis, reporting, planning and budget support to applicable units. You must be able to understand and accurately determine method of procurement or payment, ensure account information on transactions, and understand impact on the financial statements. You also will be responsible for interpreting and advising on an array of university policies and procedures and assisting the Account Representative IV's as needed. Developing and maintaining valuable and productive relationships, communicating effectively, and work closely with others to provide exceptional customer service to audiences that span all levels of the university.

This position will be supporting the Procure to Pay Team and will report directly to Andrew Darrol.

Required qualifications for the position include:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with at least 3 years of accounting or financial experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to work in a complex, high demand environment with experience prioritizing multiple deliverables, where change in process/procedures is the norm and take direction from more than one individual.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills (written/verbal) with a broad range of people to build and maintain effective working relationships.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, analytical, time management, problem-solving, sound judgement, and organizational skills are critical in managing a high volume of transactions and communications that are urgent or of a sensitive or confidential nature.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented, team-based work environment while effectively organizing, planning, and prioritizing multiple competing work activities under pressure.
• Possess a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Experience in collaborative use of computer applications in Microsoft Office, OneNote, Visio, Box, SharePoint, Zoom, Teams.
• Ability to maintain detailed documentation in a shared, cloud-based environment.
• Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment and passion to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, anti-racism, and wellbeing.

Preferred Qualifications include:

• BS/BA in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Understanding of Cornell policies and procedures in the areas of purchasing, business expense, accounting general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and travel preferred.
• Kuali Financial System (KFS), Oracle Analytics dashboard, Workday, PaymentWorks, Web eInvoicing, Spend Viz, Team Dynamix, Peoplesoft, and Concur Travel system, experience, and knowledge, transaction systems and reporting tools helpful.
