Public Policy Engagement Coordinator
APPLY The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy harnesses the University's broad disciplinary excellence in public policy, along with its innovative teaching, research, and engagement programs, to solve pressing global challenges. The school's faculty apply an interdisciplinary and problem-oriented focus to wide-ranging public policy issues as they explore how governmental choices intersect with people's lives. Brooks' curricular foci orient around problems and possibilities within seven core areas of focus: 1) Race, Racism and Public Policy; 2) Social Policy and Inequality; 3) Global Security; 4) Health Policy; 5) Environmental and Sustainability Policy; 6) Politics and Economics of Development; 7) Data Science and Technology Policy. Public engagement is a foundational priority at the Brooks School of Public Policy and facilitating social change through public engagement is a driving force compelling the work of our students, faculty, and staff. In partnership with the David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement, the Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy is excited to deepen and extend its commitment to engagement for the public good through teaching, research, and service. What You Will Do The Brooks School is seeking an entrepreneurial and team-oriented professional to support and expand policy engagement and community engaged learning and related research initiatives as its Public Engagement Coordinator. As part of the academic administration team, the Public Engagement Coordinator will manage programming operations and budgets, organize and facilitate research and data analysis, and conduct assessments and evaluations of the outcomes and impact of community engaged learning and teaching for faculty, students and partners. With guidance from the Senior Associate Dean for Public Engagement, they will also participate in implementing Brooks' strategic plan to achieve its public engagement vision and goals which includes: identifying grant funding opportunities; building and maintaining a public engagement data infrastructure (e.g., a database of partner organizations); coordinating relationships with community partners to create a public engagement partnership network that will amplify the local, national, and global impact of Brooks; assisting faculty with developing additional courses across all majors and minors for Brooks' Community Engaged Learning (CEL) curriculum; and developing an evaluation plan for accountability using survey instruments to establish engagement metrics for data-informed decision making.
