Position Summary

This position is available to any degree-seeking UNM student enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours) during Spring 2025 and has 30 college-level credit hours earned with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The
Editorial and Program Assistant:

  • Provides
    intensive editorial assistance writing reports, editing, and reviewing
    manuscripts
  • Develops
    and manages the Mentoring Institute's online journal and formats it in InDesign
  • Interacts
    with publishers as appropriate
  • Creates
    annotated bibliographies and literature reviews
  • Assists
    in the compilation and verification of research data
  • Assists
    with the execution of routine research protocols, data analysis, and
    interpretation
  • Develops
    and maintains associated database records and files
  • Assists
    in the planning, organization, and facilitation of academic, promotional,
    and fundraising communications
  • Performs
    miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge
    of APA Style
  • Advanced knowledge
    of Adobe InDesign
  • Strong
    communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability
    to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Effective
    public speaking and media presentation skills
  • Ability
    to plan, coordinate, and effectively implement special events
  • Knowledge
    of reference management software (Endnote)
  • Ability
    to work well in groups and independently
