Expectations for this Role: Sentara Health is seeking a Clinical Psychologist. This person will be responsible for reviewing authorizations for Medicaid and Behavioral Health, with majority of the job focusing on UM. This person will also participate in behavioral health and case management rounds 15% of the time. Services include: outpatient, community based level of care and intensive pace community care. Works collaboratively with Behavioral Health Medical Directors, Clinical Care Services and UM staff to establish guidelines and implement clinical criteria to determine medical necessity for behavioral health outpatient services. Works directly with internal behavioral health staff to ensure appropriate and consistent utilization of plan benefits and clinical guidelines. Responsible for quality assessment and improvement activities, conducts initial authorization and concurrent reviews of behavioral health services, Acts as a behavioral health expert for peer to peer and case reviews. Mentors behavioral health care management by assisting in training, utilization meetings and quality projects.Three (3) years of clinical experience in behavioral health is required. One (1) year experience in multiple treatment settings preferred. One (1) year experience in managed care preferred.
