The Senior Pharmacy Technician coordinates the day-to-day activities of the technician staff including: pharmacy automation, medication labeling and distribution, sterile compounding and drug supply. Provides guidance training and serves as a role model for the technical support staff via rotating through the various shifts with other pharmacy technicians. Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate preparation of medications for delivery for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. Provide technical support for improvements and maintenance of the order verification database (i.e. Epic), Pyxis and Talyst Medication Carousel systems. All work performed will be reviewed, checked, and approved by pharmacists prior to leaving the pharmacy.

Requirements:




  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of hospital or institutional pharmacy technician experience
  • Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required.
