A Software Engineer I at Central Dispatch in Logistics applies the principles of secure software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing and evaluation of software and cloud infrastructure. Works cross functionally to understand business requirements, architecture and technology direction, evaluate alternative approaches and ensure software and systems are designed accordingly. Incorporates state-of-the-art concepts and practices to facilitate system functionality, scalability, resilience and security as well as ease-of-use (developer / user experience). Apply agile principles to software development with a focus on delivery of business value, collaboration, continuous improvement and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering Quality Code
  • Design and Architecture: Contribute to the design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems.
  • Development: Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting production systems.
  • Execute Roadmap Deliverables: Contribute to the timely delivery of platform and application roadmap items.
  • Develop Secure Solutions: Focus on building solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.


Team Collaboration

  • Mentorship: Seek guidance from senior engineers and provide support to junior team members.
  • Team Building: Participate in fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow best practices and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards.
  • Technical Guidance: Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to provide technical support.
  • Diagnose and Implement Solutions: Assist in addressing key technology or application problems.
  • Critical Thinking: Apply innovative solutions to contribute to the success of the organization.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders to deliver impactful projects.


Communication

  • Stakeholder Updates: Provide updates on progress and challenges to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 12 years' experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency in in .NET C#, React and Typescript.
  • Solid grasp of software development best practices and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment, collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to present technical details to a varied audience.
  • A keen sense of team spirit, open-mindedness, and a genuine passion for software engineering.

USD 72,200.00 - 108,200.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $72,200.00 - $108,200.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
