Cox Communications is looking for a Data Scientist-II to join the Network Analytics and Reliability team. This role will be responsible for using Cox's data to identify opportunities to optimize processes, tools, and performance. The Data Scientist is required to have strong skills in advanced analytics algorithms, tools, and technologies to enable data-driven decision making for positive finalize impact with Cox.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, research, interpret, catalog, source, manipulate, and enrich Cox Communications' structured and unstructured data assets to facilitate effective analytics.
  • Use foundational data science methodologies to identify relationships/drivers of key metrics to improve customer experience, network performance, quality of service, profitability of products, and personalized offerings.
  • Build analytics processes for automation, knowledge discovery, decision-making, insights, optimization, monitoring, and new capabilities.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and visualizations to communicate complex data/analyses to non-technical personnel.
  • Test new technologies, tools, and data. Keep up-to-date on new technologies, standards and practices.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 14 years' experience in a related field
  • Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software/languages/tools; e.g., Spark (ML, Mllib, Spark SQL), Python (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn), SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with writing complex programs in these and/or other environments.
  • Strong understanding of the mathematical, optimization, and computational concepts behind advanced analytics algorithms.
  • Experience using cloud computing to build analytics applications.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to successfully comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work in a diverse team.


Preferred:

  • Experience in data visualization solutions and data visualization tools.
  • 1+ years of experience within telecommunications, cable industry, or high tech.


USD 87,200.00 - 130,800.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $87,200.00 - $130,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
