Daikin Applied is hiring a Sourcing Manager I to join our team. In this newly created role, the Sourcing Manager will be dedicated to supporting the Digital Transformation of the business. In partnership with the IT organization, the Sourcing Manager I will provide strategic sourcing for the IT Hardware category.

Location: Plymouth, MN (Hybrid)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Proactively manages assigned categories such as hardware, devices, telecom, and other various IT categories.
  • Prepares short and long term strategies for various categories.
  • Negotiates supply agreements and counters price increase demands.
  • Creates opportunities for CIP savings and delivers year over year cost savings.
  • Acts as negotiator when supply deliveries default.
  • Understands the cost structures of the Supplier base.
  • Maintains high level contact with Suppliers.
  • Lead product development activities with key suppliers.
  • Identify/develop strategic supplier relationships.
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
  • Manage cost reduction programs consistent with Daikin's business plan.
  • Confers with Suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
  • Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests and approves invoices for payment.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, Suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.



Minimum requirements



  • A Bachelor's degree is required (Business, Economics, Engineering, or Finance)
  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in Procurement or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience partnering directly with both local and regional suppliers
  • 3+ years of experience in composing multiple commodity strategies

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,400 - $126,500 + bonus in Minnesota. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
