Texas Oncology is looking for a Senior Pharmacy Admixture Technician to join our team! This full time position will support the Baytown, Texas location. Some travel will be required to support other local locations. ( i.e. Astoria Blvd, Pasadena, Pearland and Webster, Texas) Baytown is known for its numerous bays and waterways, breathtaking views and an area full of adventure. More victories." in their fight against cancer. Today, Texas Oncology treats half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer on an annual basis. What does the Senior Pharmacy Admixture Technician do? Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: -Prepares medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a registered pharmacist. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization. -Under a professional's supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines. -Counts controlled drugs weekly and maintain records. -Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs. -Cleans hood daily or as stated in policy and procedures. -Checks drugs monthly for outdate and other quality assurance activities as assigned. -Keeps accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs. Assists lead pharmacy technician in ensuring that standard drug supplies are in adequate supply in all departments. -Prepares labels. -Files and prepares billing. -Performs efficient data entry into systems used by pharmacy and admixture. -May provide direction/guidance to lower level Admixture Technician staff.
