Summary of Position

We're looking for an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team at our North East, MD shop. Reporting to Field Repair Dispatch, the Field Mechanic will handle maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in southern Lancaster County, northern Maryland, and northern Delaware.

To succeed in this role, you should have a valid CDL license, at least 3 years of hands-on experience with heavy equipment repair and diesel mechanics, and strong skills in hydraulic and electronic systems. This role involves working in a variety of environments, so adaptability and problem-solving are a must.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Execute various electrical tasks, including rough-ins, pipe bending, wire pulling, and electrical terminations.
  • Handle the installation or relocation of transformers and electrical switchgear/equipment.
  • Undertake maintenance and repair activities for existing electrical systems.
  • Perform low-voltage wiring tasks as required.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Prioritize and uphold a commitment to working safely, utilizing provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adhering to all safety rules and procedures.
  • Contribute to the implementation of safety methods and practices within the work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in heavy equipment repair and diesel mechanics is required.
  • Strong proficiency in hydraulic and electronic systems is essential.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • A valid CDL license is required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
