Summary of Position

Kinsley is currently seeking a driven and punctual Material Handler to join our growing fabrication team in York, PA. Our work includes fabrication as it pertains to our heavy industrial sector, including but not limited to structural steel, plate weldments, fabricated pipe and heavy ductwork. This position would be responsible for assisting with unloading and loading materials and moving fabricated components as needed to multiple workstations. We will provide on the job training as needed for operation of equipment including but not limited to forklift, overhead cranes, saw, shear, brake and bending equipment.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Operate forklift and overhead cranes
  • Perform and/or assist with operation of saws, shear and bending equipment
  • Non CDL truck driving will be required
  • Measure, cut or shape metal
  • Clean and prepare workstations by removing debris and possible hazards
  • Load or unload raw materials and fabricated steel
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures
  • Perform and/or assist with the painting and blasting operations
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required

Experience & Education

  • Previous experience is not required but will be evaluated when determining starting compensation
  • Basic math skills to properly measure for the number of materials needed
  • Read and interpret maps, sketches and drawings
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA safety regulations
  • Willingness to multi-task and strong communications skills are required
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
  • Must be able to operate manual transmissions
  • Current driver's license is required
  • Must have transportation to get to fabrication shop
  • Must be reliable to get to work on time, ready with all tools to do a day of good work
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical, including a drug and alcohol test
