Fish Culture Station Foreman - Fairview

The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is seeking to fill a permanent Fish Culture Station Foreman position with the Fairview State Fish Hatchery in Erie County. If you are a reliable, hard-working individual who likes being outdoors and seeks a career in fisheries, this may be the job for you!

As a Fish Culture Station Foreman you will supervise fish culturists in the propagation of fish for stocking waters of Pennsylvania for the benefit of anglers and species conservation. Most duties are outside and this person will have varied jobs working with fish, that includes spawning, incubation, feeding, sorting fish, stocking, and providing tours to the public. Our team will rely on you to prioritize work needs within the hatchery, work cooperatively with the hatchery manager, and maintain a safe and efficient environment while meeting hatchery goals. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• May be required to work overtime, weekends, or holidays on occasion.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Fish Culturist 2; or
• Two years of technical experience in the propagation and care of food or game fish; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
