DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will oversee inmate workers in the Pennsylvania Correctional Industries (PCI) Commissary Distribution Warehouse. You will monitor completion of work assignments, ensure compliance with facility and plant regulations, and provide input for inmate performance reviews. You will instruct inmates in the standard principles and practices of storeroom operations including receiving and issuing materials, supplies, tools, and equipment. In addition, you will submit requisitions for inventory replenishment, prepare routine reports, and use forklifts or hand trucks to move oversized items. This role requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships while exercising care, custody, and control over inmates.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,688.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
